About Laura

I help professional women successfully navigate DIVORCE … by stepping into LEADERSHIP and using it as a springboard for POSITIVE CHANGE.

Divorce is CHAOS … BIG CHANGE … THE SCARY UNKNOWN. I know. I’ve been there. And now, being on the other side of it it, I know it was the best, and most challenging, thing I’ve ever done. And from this place, I can tell you that the most important thing you can do to successfully navigate divorce is to be a leader in this process … and not be a victim of it. Achieving true mastery over yourself and your actions … regardless of the chaos around you … will help you make decisions you are proud of (versus ones you will regret), achieve better outcomes and reinvent your life and career.

Based in the United States, I have coached individuals all over the world including the United States, Canada, Spain, Kenya, Colombia, Singapore and the UK. I earned an MA from Tufts University and am a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coaching Federation, a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) through the Coaches Training Institute, a certified Mediator in Massachusetts AND certified in Parentology (whew!). I also hosted a radio show – Divorce Sucks: A Smart Girls’ Guide To Doing It Better on VoiceAmerica in early 2015.

My professional background includes 20+ years in management, leadership, strategy and business development serving the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industries, in specific roles such as Vice President Business Development, Consultant and Advisory Board member. I’m also a writer, with articles published in Huffington Post, Fox News Magazine, Parents Magazine, Thought Catalog, Care2, Working Mother Magazine, Babble, Unlocked Magazine and Solo Parent Magazine.

I am also a single mom with two young children and 2 crotchety cats. My divorce process took almost 2 years and a huge bite out of my bank account. I worked all those years in Corporate America … climbing the corporate ladder … only to lose half of my retirement money AND pay my ex-child support (even with 50/50 custody). I learned the hard way how rigged the system is for professional women. Yet, it also brought me here … to my new life … doing what I love. And the lessons I learned about life … and about myself … resulted in a fantastic, committed relationship with the man of my dreams (whom I intentionally never plan to marry). My divorce also changed how I live, work and play. I live better, with a dedicated focus on balance and health. I work smarter, with perspective and purpose. And I play harder, with joy and a huge amount of gratitude.

I created MoxieLife with 4 key cornerstones or beliefs:

  • 1. Divorce is a gift … to you and your partner. It’s a gift to leave an unfulfilling relationship and create the life you want. It’s a gift to allow and embrace pure freedom to walk the path you choose for yourself. And it’s a gift to know that you are naturally creative, resourceful and whole. You can grow and evolve from this experience and create the life you want. And so can your partner. Not doing so would deny your partner of that opportunity.
  • 2. Divorce is the dissolution of a legal contract, not your family. You can preserve and even enrich your family relationships during and after divorce. You just need clarity and intention to create what you want.
  • 3. Our jobs as parents is not to shield our children from change … it’s to teach them resilience in the face of change. Remember, you are teaching them how to live life based on how you live yours.
  • 4. Divorce is an opportunity to step into your power and leadership. To truly be successful in this process, you need to own it by taking charge in this process and in your life. Using your leadership skills here will help you create the personal and professional opportunities you want.

The bumps in the road aren’t meant to stop you. They’re there to help you learn something you need … to get to the next step. And they’re there to help you appreciate that you are walking (running, jumping, leaping) on your the path at all.

About Caroline

As an Associate Coach at MoxieLife, I empower you to create a deep connection with YOURSELF … which then becomes the platform for successful, values-based relationships with the people around you.

Without that inner connection, fear, pressure and exhaustion have you struggling in a cycle you just can’t escape by yourself. Every time you start to see a glimpse of the person you used to be … or want to be … and the path to move forward, you slip back into familiar habits. Aren’t you tired of that merry-go-round? Aren’t you tired of repeating those same defeating patterns over and over again?

I sure was! I’ve been there – confused and stuck in a defeated and disappointing place. I was actually a MoxieLife client in the dark days before, during and after my divorce. And it started with a “light bulb” moment when I finally realized I had lost myself. I was constantly trying to please and fix others while completely neglecting myself. I had this crazy idea it would get me the acceptance and validation I so desperately wanted. And lemme tell ya, it wasn’t working for me at all! Through my divorce, traumatic parenting issues, many sleepless nights and oh so many tears, I found a sacred part of my faith and a hidden part of myself that created a life-changing shift!

I became a coach to use MY journey as a beacon for others. There are too many people living in unnecessary pain … just as lost as I used to be. Now, I’m contagiously passionate about walking hand in hand with you to reveal the root of your deepest hurt, release the shame you hold on to and then rise to joyfully soar above it all! Connection, freedom and celebration are the core values that uniquely equip me to serve you in a deep and meaningful way. It’s my heartfelt desire to guide you in your own inspired journey from burnout to bliss.
